Stars Vs. Blackhawks Score Update: Chicago Leads 1-0 After Second Period

After failing to score for the entire first period and roughly half of the second period, the Chicago Blackhawks finally came through with a goal to take a 1-0 lead over the Dallas Stars going into the third period. After struggling to get much going early, Chicago finally found some room to work offensively in the second period.

In the first period, the Blackhawks could muster just six shots on Stars goaltender Richard Bachman, failing to really put much pressure on him. But in the second period, Chicago slapped 16 shots his way, with the Blackhawks' Marian Hossa finally getting one past him roughly midway through the period.

Now, Chicago just needs to hold on and get a strong third period from goalie Corey Crawford. He's a perfect 10-of-10 on save opportunities tonight, but you can tell from the sheer number of shots that Dallas hasn't exactly attacked the goal with aggression.
