The Chicago Blackhawks (30-21-7, 67 pts), fresh off their first road win since mid-December, have recalled 20-year-old RW Jimmy Hayes from the Rockford IceHogs, sending 22-year-old C Andrew Shaw back down to Rockford.
Hayes played 13 games with the Blackhawks earlier in the season and still leads the team in shooting percentage at 20%, having scored 4 goals on just 20 shots. Hayes averaged only about 11 minutes on ice in his first stay with the club, and he does not figure to get much more action in his second stint.
In Shaw's nearly 300 minutes on the ice, he culled a respectable 12.5 shooting percentage with 5 goals and 4 assists. However, he appeared to be somewhat of a defensive liability in the early going, putting up a -7 plus/minus and -0.1 defensive point shares.
The Blackhawks look to build their first winning streak since late January, taking on the Columbus Blue Jackets at noon CST this Saturday.
