Blackhawks Vs. Red Wings Final Score: Chicago Loses In Overtime, 3-2

The Chicago Blackhawks led division rival Detroit for over 55 minutes on Sunday night, but the Red Wings got a pair of goals in crunch time to ultimately pull out a 3-2 victory in overtime. Following a scoreless second period, Chicago took a 2-1 lead into the third and carried that edge into the final five minutes of regulation.

The Blackhawks had an opportunity to extend that lead on a penalty shot, but unfortunately none of the team's primary goal scoring threats were on the ice at the time of the infraction, which is how rookie Jimmy Hayes ended up with the opportunity.

He was denied, and Detroit tied the game at two on a goal by Henrik Zetterberg with 4:45 remaining. Pavel Datsyuk scored the game-winner 3:08 into overtime.
