Blackhawks Vs. Sharks Score Update: Chicago Scores Twice In Opening Period

On the heels of an emotional overtime loss to the Detroit Red Wings, Blackhawks fans had to wonder if the team would be able to bounce back in a key Western Conference matchup against the San Jose Sharks. Although it took them a little while to get going, Chicago delivered an impressive performance in the opening period, scoring twice to take the 2-0 lead.

Dave Bolland opened the scoring with just two minutes remaining in the period, netting his 13th goal of the season. Jimmy Hayes and Andrew Burnette were credited with the assists on the goal. Just 98 seconds later, Viktor Stalberg found the back of the net to increase the lead. Jonathan Toews and Nick Leddy combined to help setup the key goal.
