Chicago Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville Hospitalized Following Early Morning ER Visit

Joel Quenneville, head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks, was rushed to an unnamed emergency room early this morning, according to an official press release. In the statement, team physician Dr. Michael Terry reveals:

Joel presented severe discomfort late last night at his home in suburban Chicago. He is currently in stable condition and is being treated for an undisclosed health concern today, not of cardiac nature.

The Blackhawks do not expect Quenneville to return to work today as further tests are administered. In the same press release, Vice President/General Manager Stan Bowman states:

↵
Acting as head coach tonight in Joel’s absence will be assistant coach Mike Haviland. We certainly wish Joel a speedy recovery and we will do everything possible to support him and his family throughout the process.

The Blackhawks face off against the Minnesota Wild tonight at the United Center. The puck drops at 7 pm Central. We'll keep you updated on Coach Q's condition as further information becomes available.
