The New York Islanders came into Thursday night's game against the Blackhawks playing some of their best hockey of the season -- they'd won four of their previous five games -- but it's Chicago that holds the advantage after one period. The Blackhawks took a 1-0 lead on a power play goal by Marian Hossa, which was his 12th goal of the year.
In general, the game has been relatively even, at least in terms of shots on goal, as both teams have 10. Both teams have had one power play opportunity and the Isles hold a slight 10-9 edge in the faceoff circle.
Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp got the assists on the Hossa goal.
