The Chicago Blackhawks finish up a four-game homestand with the Detroit Red Wings on Friday night; it's the team's only game of the weekend. Chicago is coming off a surprising shutout loss at home to the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday, but they've otherwise been playing really well in recent weeks. They'll try to get back to their winning ways against their closest competition in the Central division.
The Blackhawks' full schedule is here. As for the weekend:
Dec. 30: vs. Detroit Red Wings (7:30 p.m. CT, CSN)
The Red Wings have an offense that can match Chicago's and they've been better than the Blackhawks at the defensive end, but they enter Friday's game three points behind Chicago. They've been as hot as Chicago over their last 10 games and they'll be looking to extend their current winning streak to three games.
