The Chicago Blackhawks entered Wednesday night as winners of five straight games at the United Center, but the Los Angeles Kings had other ideas. Kings goalie Jonathan Quick made some unbelievable stops to fuel LA to a 2-0 victory over Chicago. The win improves the Kings to 18-14-5, while the 'Hawks fall to 23-10-4. Chicago still has the most points in the NHL.
Quick made 38 saves in the win, good for his league-leading fifth shutout of the season. 'Hawks goalie Corey Crawford was solid himself, stopping 36 of the 38 shots he faced, but it wasn't enough.
Jarret Stoll of the Kings scored the lone goal of the third period. Stoll's fourth goal of the year came off assists from Justin Williams and Drew Doughty. Trent Hunter's second period goal was the game's only other score.
