Blackhawks Vs. Canadiens Final Score: Chicago Thrives In The Third, Wins 5-1 Over Montreal

The Chicago Blackhawks and Montreal Canadiens were even for most of their Wednesday night contest at the United Center, but a flurry of offense in the third period helped Chicago widen the margin to 5-1 by the time the final buzzer sounded. The win propels the Hawks to 22-9-4 overall and 12-2-3 at home.

Viktor Stalberg got the scoring started in the third when he extended Chicago's lead to 3-1 with his seventh goal of the season off an assist from Bryan Bickell. The score stayed that way until Jonathan Toews scored an empty net goal, his 20th of the year, off an assist from Bret Seabrook. Bickell would add the final goal with :12 remaining to make it 5-1.

Goalie Corey Crawford was solid throughout to earn his 13th win of the year. Crawford turned away 20 shots in victory.
