Canucks Vs. Blackhawks Score Update: Vancouver Up 5-2 After 2 Periods

Special teams blew up on the Chicago Blackhawks in the second period as the Vancouver Canucks scored three power play goals in the period to break the game open. Aaron Rome got the scoring started a little over a minute into the second, and Daniel Sedin added to Vancouver's lead with a goal three minutes later.

After Marcus Kruger pulled the Blackhawks to within one at 3-2, Vancouver responded almost immediately; Jannik Hansen scored 43 seconds later to extend the lead back to two. Dan Hamhuis scored the fourth and final goal of the period for the Canucks, giving them a comfortable 5-2 lead with just 20 minutes to play.

The shots are relatively even to this point, with Vancouver holding a 30-29 lead. The Canucks have converted on four of five power play opportunities.
