After a furious comeback against the Anaheim Ducks gave the Blackhawks their first win in four games, they'll look to get a winning streak going in their first game of the season vs. the Los Angeles Kings. With the Kings fresh off of an overtime loss to the Dallas Stars, the Hawks if anything will have the momentum going into Saturday's match up thanks to their rousing third period against Anaheim, which saw both Patrick Sharp and Jonathan Toews score two goals as the Kings turned a a 4-2 deficit into a 6-4 lead.
The Hawks will likely look to turn the game into a fast-paced, high scoring affair. Despite having two players in Mike Richards and Anze Kopitar who are in the upper echelon of the NHL in goals, the Kings are in the bottom half of the league as a team, having scored 53 goals on the season compared to the Blackhawks' 69. The Kings counter their own middling offense with goalie Jonathan Quick, whose 2.12 goals against average is good for ninth in the NHL. On Saturday, either Quick or the Blackhawks' offense will have to give.
