Blackhawks Vs. Hurricanes Score Update: Canes Up 1-0 After 2 Periods

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Cam Ward has had all the answers so far. The Blackhawks stepped up the pressure in the second period and had a couple of power plays to work with but could find no way past the Canes netminder. In what was the best chance of the period for Chicago, Jonathan Toews broke into the Carolina zone on a breakaway, but his shot was denied by Ward.

The Blackhawks have been out-shot 24-22 overall but they had the advantage in the second period, 15-12. They started to look like the better team in the period, which is progress after the opening 20 minutes, but they've still got to solve Cam Ward to get back in this one.
