Our Blackhawks have gone to a shootout in each of their last two games, and on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks, they found a way to pick up a victory. Patrick Kane played the hero, scoring the winning goal in the shootout and also providing one of the year's top highlights with a Dennis Savard-inspired spin pass. Chicago has a pair of games this weekend. Let's take a look.
Friday, Oct. 28: @ Carolina
The Hurricanes are the NHL's streakiest team early on this season. Carolina began the season with three straight losses, then won three straight. Now, they've again lost three in a row. Chicago will look to crank up the pressure in the RBC Center. The Blackhawks are averaging 3.3 goals per game, third highest in the league.
Saturday, Oct. 29: @ Columbus
At 1-7-1 with just three points, the Blue Jackets are currently the worst team in the NHL. Star forward Rick Nash is off to a fast start, though: Columbus' 6-4 wing has three goals and five assists through nine games so far. Still, expect a big win from the 'Hawks. Columbus simply doesn't have the back line to keep Chicago out of the net.
