Blackhawks, Ducks Scoreless Through 1 Period

We're already one period through Tuesday's game, but neither team has scored yet in the United Center. The Blackhawks have more doubled the Ducks' shots on goal total so far, 11 to 5, but that hasn't lent itself to an advantage on the scoreboard just yet.

For a team that's currently second in the entire league in scoring per game, fans probably expected more offense so far, but there hasn't been a lack of opportunities. We've seen three penalties, one for Anaheim and two for Chicago. Anaheim's Corey Perry got two minutes for a delay of game, Chicago's Dave Bolland got two minutes for slashing the Ducks' Francois Beauchemin and his teammate Sean O'Donnell got two more for tripping left wing Bobby Ryan.

The Ducks are on the power play as play resumes for the second period. Tuesday's game is on the radio at WGN 720 and the television at Comcast Sports Net, for those that are wondering.
