Blackhawks Run (Back) To Saskatoon Next Fall

If you are of a certain age and were a fan of the Canadian rock band the Guess Who in the early 1970s -- and I guess it's okay to admit that now -- you rocked on to one of their hits, "Runnin' Back To Saskatoon," first released in 1972.

Now, the Chicago Blackhawks are going to take that route, although I suppose that would presuppose that they have been to Saskatoon before, otherwise how could they "run back" there?

Anyway, on Sept. 20, 2011, the Hawks will face the Edmonton Oilers in a preseason contest in the Credit Union Centre, home of the WHL's Saskatoon Blades. Imagine that -- we're just about at the All-Star break of this NHL season, not even close to the playoffs, and already there's information about next season's preseason games, and in Saskatoon at that. Saskatoon, in fact, is a fine name for a city in Saskatchewan. In case you missed it (song reference!), Saskatoon is the largest city in Saskatchewan, with an estimated 2010 population of 220,000.

Or maybe I just like typing "Saskatoon". After the jump, a video of the Guess Who's "Runnin' Back To Saskatoon." In case you, too, want to run back to Saskatoon.
