Corey Crawford, the Blackhawks backup goaltender this season, played the entire game against the Red Wings in Detroit Friday night and faced 36 shots.
He saved 33 of them, but it wasn't enough for a Blackhawks win; the Hawks lost 3-2. Jeremy Morin (assisted by Tomas Kopecky and Brandon Pirri) scored the first goal and then Pirri (assisted by Brian Campbell and Morin) scored 40 seconds into the third period to make it close, but that was all the scoring.
The two teams will play again tomorrow night at the United Center at 7 p.m. CDT; the game will be televised on WGN (Chicago only) and the NHL Network.
