Blackhawks Make Another Recall From Rockford, Jeremy Morin. What's Up With That?

The Blackhawks today recalled 19-year-old Jeremy Morin from the AHL's Rockford Ice Hogs; he'll make his NHL debut tomorrow when the Hawks visit the Atlanta Thrashers.

Morin came to the Blackhawks in the massive deal last June 24 that sent Ben Eager, Brent Sopel and Dustin Byfuglien to Atlanta.

But more important, what's with these constant moves back and forth to Rockford? Since the regular season began on October 7, the Blackhawks have made 11 different transactions back and forth with their AHL affiliate; Morin will become the sixth different Ice Hog to spend time in a Blackhawks uniform this season, and we're not even a month into the regular season.

Granted, the Blackhawks have had many injuries already, and to key players Brian Campbell, Marian Hossa and Dave Bolland. Bolland is out and won't make the trip to Atlanta; Hossa is a week (at least) from returning.

But it makes you wonder about team chemistry and finding the right combinations. Moves like this don't spell "panic" -- yet. But it's clear that some of the serendipity and right moves everywhere that led to last year's Stanley Cup championship aren't happening yet for the Hawks.
