Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell was activated yesterday and played in his first NHL game of the season against the New York Rangers last night.
↵But Campbell hasn't spent his injury time just rehabbing. Yesterday, his Campbell For Kids foundation announced a charity fundraiser, titled "2nd Annual Texas Hold ‘Em Tournament", to be held on Tues., Jan. 18, 2011 at the Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind. Last year's event raised over $100,000 for autism-related charities. A press release from the organization quoted Campbell:
↵"The support from my friends, teammates and the people of Chicago for the inaugural tournament last year was tremendous," said Campbell. "I look forward to an even bigger event this year and continuing to help kids and families in the Chicagoland area." Funds from the 2010 event were presented to Autism Speaks and Chicago’s Beard School at a formal check presentation hosted by the school on September 16, 2010.↵
