The Blackhawks will arrive for their Saturday home opener against the Red Wings in style. Madison Street will be closed off between Damen and Wood from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. for a red carpet arrival:
↵↵The 2010-11 Blackhawks players will arrive via limousine on Madison Street in front of Gate 3 at 5:00 p.m., and will each be introduced before walking down a red carpet and into the United Center’s Gate 2. Blackhawks Radio Play-By-Play Announcer John Wiedeman will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event. ↵↵↵↵The event is free and features appearances by Blackhawks alumni, executives, broadcasters and Tommy Hawk, the team’s mascot. Parking lots around the United Center will open at 4 p.m., while gates will open for the home opener at 5:30 p.m.
The Hawks and Wings will face off at 7:30 p.m. after a pregame ceremony to raise the Stanley Cup banner to the UC rafters.
