The Bears signed wide receiver Brittan Golden to a reserve/futures contract on Friday, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPN Chicago.
Golden, 24, was with the Bears during training camp, but was waived on Aug. 31 after returning a blocked punt for a touchdown in the Bears' regular season finale. He was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars' practice squad on Dec. 18 where he remained for the last two games of the regular season.
The 5-11, 186-pound receiver went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft despite a productive collegiate career at West Texas A&M. In his senior season he caught 55 passes for 1,076 yards with 12 touchdowns and was named to the First Team All-Lone Star Conference team.
The Bears finished 2012 with the No. 28 offense in terms of yardage and were No. 29 in passing. While Brandon Marshall earned a trip to the Pro Bowl with 1,508 yards receiving, no other receiver on the roster finished with more than 400 yards receiving.
