Chicago Bears DE Corey Wootton Looks To Continue Hot Start

Bears defensive end Corey Wootton had a slow start to his career after a serious injury in the 2008 Alamo Bowl slowed down the dominant pass rusher. With just one sack in 13 games through two seasons, the 2010 fourth-round pick hadn't inspired a tremendous amount of hope, but has started off the 2012 season very well.

With 1.5 sacks, Wootton already has as many tackles and sacks as he's had in any season and it's only been two games. Playing in rotation behind Julius Peppers and Israel Idonije, Wootton along with Shea McClellin have provided the Bears with a strong rotation at the defensive end position.

"It's been nice," Wootton told Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago. "Just the rotation is giving people a different look. One play it's Izzy, one play it's myself, one play it's Shea, one play it's Pep, so it gives everybody a different look. And inside they're doing a good job of rotating as well. It's different looks all across the board"

Wootton also recorded his first career forced fumble in Week 1 against the Colts.
