Bears LB Brian Urlacher: Playing Time Will Help Conditioning, Recognition

Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher is still recovering from having his knee scoped during training camp. Urlacher looked slow and tentative at times against the Green Bay Packers in Week 2, but he says his knee is fine. Urlacher believes that his conditioning and play recognition are the areas that need work.

"The more I'm out there, the better I'm going to get,'' said Urlacher, who was held out of practice Thursday. "I didn't have training camp, as you all well know. The more I get out there, the more I practice, the better off I'll be, just seeing things and kind of getting back into it. I expect to get better every week.''

Despite his issues, Urlacher was second on the team in tackles against the Packers, finishing the game with eight. For the season, Urlacher ranks third on the Chicago roster with 10 tackles. Last season, Urlacher was second on the team with 102 tackles.
