Matt Forte Injury Update: Bears RB Suffered High Ankle Sprain Vs. Packers, According To Report

Nothing went right for the Chicago Bears during their 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night in Week 2, and now it is believed that star running back Matt Forte suffered a high ankle sprain during the game. This news comes via a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN, and it means the Bears will probably have to lean heavily on backup running back Michael Bush in the next few weeks. Forte was injured during the third quarter when Packers safety Charles Woodson rolled up on his ankle at the end of a 14-yard reception.

Forte left the game after compiling 31 rushing yards on seven attempts and 45 yards receiving on four catches. As a sign of how bad things got for the Bears, he still finished the game as the team's leading receiver. The Bears signed Forte to a four-year deal during the offseason with $18 million in guaranteed money. In other news, paying NFL running backs continues to be a tough investment to justify.
