The Green Bay Packers bounced back from their season opening loss to the 49ers by beating their oldest rivals. After a scoreless first quarter, the Packers took control in the second quarter and went into the half with a 13-point lead. Chicago looked to be making a game of it in the third, but Green Bay put the game on ice in the fourth quarter. They'd open the fourth with a field goal, and then this touchdown put the game out of reach:
Chicago would add a touchdown shortly after, but it would be too little too late as the Packers defense cranked up the pressure. Here's the Bears touchdown pass from the fourth:
The game ended 23-10, so anyone who took the under should be smiling. The Packers were 4-point favorites, so they easily covered the spread.
Fantasy star of the game:
There weren't any real offensive stars on Thursday, but the Packers defense had a fantastic night. The unit gave up only ten points and allowed just yards, they sacked Jay Cutler seven times and forced him to throw four interceptions. Clay Matthews had himself a heck of a night, with 7-tackles and 3.5-sacks.
What's up next:
The Bears will host the Rams a week from Sunday as they look to bounce back from Thursday's loss. St. Louis will be in action on Sunday, as they host Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins. The Packers will take their 1-1 record west, heading to Century Link Field to take on the Seattle Seahawks in eleven days time. The Seahawks will be hosting the Cowboys on Sunday.
