Bears defensive end Julius Peppers should be happy with his virtual self as he is the sixth-highest ranked defensive player in Madden '13 with a 97 overall rating. Peppers is the only Bear to make the list of top 10 defensive players in 2013. Peppers finished the 2011 season with 11 sacks and was a pass rushing force all season, deserving of his 97 rating.
Peppers was the third highest-ranked defensive end, behind Jared Allen of the Minnesota Vikings and Justin Smith of the San Francisco 49ers -- both received overall ratings of 98. CB Darrelle Revis of the Jets was the top-rated defensive player with a 99 rating; Cowboys OLB DeMarcus Ware also received a 99 rating. 49ers LB Patrick Willis was rated a 98 along with the two previously mentioned DEs. Rounding out the top 10 were Ravens DE Haloti Ngata, Steelers SS Troy Polamalu, Ravens FS Ed Reed, and Bills DE Mario Williams who all had ratings of 97, equal to Peppers.
