The Bears received a bit of good news on Sunday in the aftermath of their second preseason game, as injured safety Brandon Hardin was released from a local hospital after being cleared by doctors according to Chicago Tribune reporter Brad Biggs:

The former third-round pick is set to undergo another round of tests in two weeks to figure out when he'll be able to suit up again, but it's clear right now that everyone is just glad to see that the talented youngster avoided a more serious injury. In a scary sequence, Hardin was carted off the field in the third quarter of Saturday's game at Soldier Field after his helmet collided with Redskins tight end Logan Paulsen.
Hardin never once lost full use of his extremities despite the gruesome nature of the injury, and actually hopped on Twitter on Monday morning to reassure fans that he'd be okay, in addition to giving the usual "thumbs up" as he was carted away. While head injuries are definitely not something the NFL likes to mess around with one bit, it appears Hardin and the Bears lucked out significantly here, and that the young safety might be back on the field much, much sooner than originally anticipated.
