Fantasy Football Rankings 2012: Matt Forte's Value Lowered Due To Michael Bush

Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is ranked as a third tier running back as far as fantasy football purposes are concerned.

Fantasy football rankings for 2012 are going to end up being a big deal following this week's preseason games as armchair GMs prepare for their draft. Matt Forte is obviously going to get some attention, too, as running backs are always important when it comes to making a fantasy impact.

The Chicago Bears back isn't as highly thought of as one might expect when it comes to SB Nation's fantasy experts over at Fake Teams, however. Not necessarily because Forte isn't a talented player, but rather because the Bears have other options that could cause him to get less carries.

The Tulane product got his dough with a four-year, $32 million deal and he'll be ready to go in what should be a big-time offense in the Windy City. The concern here is in the infusion of talent could lower his touches and especially his scores. Brandon Marshall is one of the best red-zone targets in the league and Michael Bush. Bush had almost 1,400 yards of offense and one would think that he's going to be more than just insurance for Forte and his MCL injury from last year.

It'll be interesting to see how everything pans out, of course, but right now Forte's ranked as a third tier running back (for fantasy purposes) -- right behind divisional foe Adrian Peterson, oddly enough.
