In Tuesday's edition of "Mike and Mike in the Morning", ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter suggested the Chicago Bears would now turn their attentions to QB Jay Cutler and LB Brian Urlacher since the team had locked RB Matt Forte to a four-year deal. According to Schefter, the team will now look at possible extensions for their franchise quarterback and All-Pro linebacker:
I think [the Forte extension] was something both sides expected ... And now Chicago can go ahead and pursue signing a guy like Brian Urlacher, who's got one year left on his contract, and quarterback Jay Cutler, who's got two years left on his contract.
Cutler came to the Bears in the 2008 trade that sent QB Kyle Orton to the Denver Broncos. The 29-year-old enters his fourth season with the Bears, but already ranks 4th on the Bears' all-time passing touchdowns record with 63 and ranks 7th with 9259 passing yards.
