Bears Offseason 2012: Chicago Says Hester's Kick Returning Will Be Limited

Even at age 29, Chicago Bears wide receiver and returner Devin Hester remains one of the team's most electric players. But as the Bears continue to try and utilize Hester better on offense, head coach Lovie Smith told reporters that his time as a kick returner will be severely limited. That said, Hester, who has five career touchdowns as a kick returner, is still expected to take the majority of the team's punt returns.

The writing for this move was on the wall when the Bears signed Eric Weems away from the Atlanta Falcons. Weems is nominally a wide receiver, but he's known for his special teams play and will likely return most of the kicks while also working on the coverage teams.
