Bears Offseason 2012: Devin Hester Still No. 1 Kickoff Return Man

Chicago special teams coordinator Dave Toub made it clear on Wednesday that Devin Hester is still the team's top kick returner going into next season, as Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports. The Bears recently signed former Pro Bowl kick returner Eric Weems, leaving some to wonder whether Hester might see some sort of change in role.

[Hester’s] still our No. 1 kickoff returner. So when we need a big one Devin is going to be in there. We have the luxury of having Eric Weems, so there will be times when we have them both back there.

In 2010, Weems made the Pro Bowl as a 25-year-old with the Atlanta Falcons. Dickerson says that he's likely to contribute in other areas than the return game, which makes sense given that Hester likely won't be giving up his spot as the top kick returner any time soon.
