Bears Offseason 2012: DT Matt Toeaina Will Be Ready For Camp Despite Injury

Chicago Bears defensive tackle Matt Toeaina broke his hand during a recent OTA when he hit the helmet of teammate Jordan MIller, but the injury won't keep the veteran lineman out the team's three-day veteran minicamp, which kicks off on Tuesday. Toeaini told reporters that he initially thought he had merely suffered a sprain, but a reevaluation by head trainer Chris Hanks revealed that he had broken his right hand.

Toeaina played in 12 games last season, starting in all of them. He notched 21 tackles as one of Chicago's main weapons against the run. He should be fully recovered from the hand injury in 2-4 weeks, and though he'll be limited somewhat in camp this week, he intends to be out on the field.
