Bears Offseason 2012: Linebacker Brian Urlacher Eager To Stay In Chicago, But May Test Market

The Chicago Bears star linebacker is in the final year of his contract, but does not know whether the team will offer him an extension for the 2013 NFL season. LB Brian Urlacher spoke about his contract situation on the Waddle and Silvy Show on ESPN 1000, apparently intrigued by the possibilities of free agency:

"I think (team president) Ted Phillips said when they had the owners meeting they're gonna wait until the season is over; see what happens, how I play ... It's kind of exciting. I've never been a free agent. So if I can get to free agency we'll see what happens. I no doubt want to finish my career here. There's no doubt about that. But you bring in free agency and all that you just never know what's gonna happen."

Urlacher has played all 12 of his NFL season with the Chicago Bears. He will be 34 years old during the 2012 NFL season.
