Could The Chicago Bears Be Interested In Buccaneers Tight End Kellen Winslow Jr.?

Veteran tight end Kellen Winslow Jr. of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is on the trading block, and may eventually be released before training camp begins. Could the Chicago Bears be interested in adding the former Miami Hurricane? It makes sense, at least on paper.

The Bears' tight ends left a lot to be desired last season after the team traded fan favorite Greg Olsen before the year started. Kellen Davis returns and fourth round draft pick Evan Rodriguez was just added to the roster, but Winslow is certainly more established than either. He probably needs to prove he's healthy before any team will take a flyer on him. Winslow has bad knees, but has still been fairly productive the last few years.

In 2011, Winslow caught 75 passes for 763 yards and two touchdowns.
