The Chicago Bears have officially added another piece to their upgraded receiving corps. The team announced early Wednesday that they have agreed to a four-year contract with second-round pick Alshon Jeffery, a deal that is believed to be the first agreement between a 2012 draftee and his team, although the terms are still unknown.

Jeffery flashed first round talent while playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks, but slipped to the second amidst concerns about his ability to separate from NFL defenders. But neither his size nor production in college can be quibbled with: the 6' 4", 229 pound Jeffery caught 183 passes for 3,042 yards and 23 touchdowns in three years under Steve Spurrier.
