Gabe Carimi Injury: Bears Offensive Lineman Expects To Participate In Minicamps

The Chicago Bears lost offensive lineman Gabe Carimi early in the 2011 season to a knee injury that would require two surgeries. On Saturday, Carimi said he should be ready to participate in minicamp later this month, though he added, "there's never any promises."

Carimi said Saturday night at the black-tie Bears Care Gala charity event that he is hoping to be ready for the organized team activities beginning in two weeks and definitely for the veterans minicamp set for mid-June.

"If we continue our progress, we should be doing minicamps," Carimi said. "I’m going to be in the mix. There’s never any promises. It’s just getting healthy and getting back out there, that’s the important thing."
