Bears Free Agency 2012: Chicago Signs CB Kelvin Hayden

On Thursday afternoon, the Chicago Bears announced the signing of cornerback Kelvin Hayden to a one-year contract. The seven year veteran -- and University of Illinois alumnus -- was originally drafted by the Indianapolis Colts.

The 6-foot, 195-pounder spent his first seven NFL seasons with the Colts (2005-10) and Falcons (2011). Appearing in 85 games with 47 starts, he recorded 312 tackles, 11 interceptions, 41 passes defensed, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 25 special teams stops.

In eight games with Atlanta in 2011, Hayden had 24 tackles and picked off two passes.

Terms of Hayden's deal with Chicago have not been disclosed.
