Bears Free Agency 2012: Chicago Has Eric Steinbach On The Radar

The Chicago Bears have former Cleveland Browns offensive guard Eric Steinbach on their radar as they seek veteran help for the offensive line, according to Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago. Steinbach was released by Cleveland on March 14 after being asked to take a significant pay cut.

Dickerson says that the Seattle Seahawks have also shown interest in Steinbach, and the Baltimore Ravens may also be in the market for a veteran guard. Since being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2003, he's been a full-time starter and one of the most solid offensive lineman in the game.

Steinbach, who turns 32 today, is a native of New Lenox, Ill., outside of Chicago. He played college football for the University of Iowa after becoming one of the top high school football players in Illinois.
