Bears 2012 NFL Draft Grades: SB Nation Gives Bears A "C"

New Chicago Bears GM Phil Emery drafted for talent as opposed to need in the 2012 NFL Draft, and the results have been decidedly mixed. Emery targeted a Bears defense that is balancing being one of the best in the NFL despite getting up there in age, and if there's anything to be taken away from this year's draft, it's that an infusion of youth is coming to that side of the ball.

The Bears also took two pass catchers, the most notable of which is South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery, who was one of draft's most controversial players. For SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber, the Bears draft was a mixed bag, and he pinned a "C" grade on the team in his NFL Draft grades assessment, questioning whether they can extract value from Jeffery and if they reached for first round pick Shea McClellin.
