NFL Draft 2012: Chicago Bears Host South Carolina DE Melvin Ingram

The Chicago Bears received a visit from South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram on Wednesday, according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. The Bears hold the No. 19 pick in the upcoming draft and Ingram is considered one of the most talented defensive players in the class.

Ingram was a consensus All-American for the Gamecocks after an impressive season at defensive end. A former linebacker, Ingram recorded ten sacks and two interceptions as part of one of the nation's top defenses under coach Steve Spurrier.

The Bears have been rumored to be looking for help on the defensive line, and Ingram would certainly fit the bill. He's highly-regarded and may not be on the board when Chicago's pick comes up, but there's obviously a pretty good fit here.
