2012 NFL Mock Draft: Michael Floyd Still May Fall To Bears

Notre Dame Fighting Irish wide receiver Michael Floyd may have the most volatile position in the 2012 NFL Draft. After impressive showings at the NFL Combine and at Notre Dame's Pro Day, there has been speculation that Floyd could end up in the bottom of the top 10, maybe even passing Justin Blackmon. Or, as predicted by SB Nation's Ryan Van Bibber in his most recent NFL Mock Draft, he may fall as far as the Chicago Bears.

With the Bears having acquired wide receiver Brandon Marshall from the Miami Dolphins this offseason, it remains to be seen if they covet a young receiver as much as most draft analysts think. That said, if Floyd slipped to No. 19, it may be hard for the Bears to pass him up.

Here is Van Bibber on the projection:

19. Chicago Bears, Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame

Even with Brandon Marshall, the Bears need more offensive weaponry for Jay Cutler. Floyd answered questions about his downfield speed at the Combine, and would give the Bears another big man to go with Marshall.
