The Chicago Bears are reportedly among the teams likely to pursue free agent CB Cortland Finnegan. According to Yahoo!'s Jason Cole, the Bears, Buccaneers, Cowboys, Vikings, Broncos and Rams may all take a shot at the All-Pro defensive back:
Expect CB Cortland Finnegan on market, Tampa, Dallas, Chicago, Minn, Denvet and STL to make a run. Likely top $11m per year.— Jason Cole (@JasonColeYahoo) March 5, 2012
Finnegan has played all seven of his NFL seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Having only recently turned 28 and earned a 2008 Pro Bowl appearance, Finnegan easily rates as one of the top CBs on the free agent market, assuming the Titans do not apply a franchise tag to him.
With only 14 career interceptions and 6.0 sacks, he does not rate as a particularly dominant corner, but he has proven to be solid and healthy through his career -- valuable commodities in the defensive back market.
