NFL Mock Draft 2012: Todd McShay Projects Bears To Take OT Jonathan Martin

There was a general expectation that the Chicago Bears would try to address their issues at wide receiver in the upcoming NFL Draft, but that was all before the Bears acquired stud wideout Brandon Marshall in a trade with the Miami Dolphins.

With their most obvious need addressed, ESPN's Todd McShay projects the Bears to select Stanford offensive tackle Jonathan Martin with the No. 19 overall pick in his latest mock draft.

Martin needs to add some strength, but he could pair with 2011 first-round OT Gabe Carimi to give offensive coordinator Mike Tice a pair of bookends to coach up. Tice's scheme will help keep QB Jay Cutler upright, but the Bears desperately need a left tackle.

After seeing how the offense fell apart in the latter portion of last season, the Bears have been making a concerted effort to improve the weapons that surround Cutler on offense. Chicago's new GM, Phil Emery, has been aggressive in doing so, acquiring Marshall, running back Michael Bush and back-up quarterback Jason Campbell in a series of moves thus far.
