The 2012 NFL Draft is just weeks away, and now that the NFL has awarded 32 compensatory picks to teams around the league, the draft order is officially set. Although the Bears did not receive the rights to any compensatory selections, they still hold seven picks heading into the draft. General Manager Phil Emery filled a big need at wide receiver by trading for Brandon Marshall, but the Bears may still need to add another body at the position given the uncertain health status of Johnny Knox. Other areas of need include the offensive line, defensive secondary and backup linebacker positions after the Bears added veteran depth at quarterback and running back by signing Jason Campbell and Michael Bush.
GM Phil Emery will be armed with five selections in the top 150 picks, so he will have the flexibility to either take the best player available or package picks to move up or down in the draft.
