The Chicago Bears already had arguably the best special teams in the NFL last season, and they strengthened that unit today by signing ex-Atlanta Falcons specialist Eric Weems to a three-year deal.
Weems was with the Falcons for five seasons, which included a Pro Bowl selection in 2010 and a selection as a Pro Bowl alternate in 2011. In the second round of the 2010 playoffs, Weems returned a kick vs. the Green Bay Packers for a 102-yard touchdown, which is an NFL playoff record. Weems also recorded 12 tackles on special teams last season, and may see some action as a back up wide receiver in Chicago.
