Brandon Marshall Trade: Marshall Accused Of Hitting Woman At Club

Nothing is ever simple in the world of new Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall. A day after Marshall admitted to being involved in an altercation at a New York club after his wife was allegedly struck in the face by a bottle of liquor, the New York Post is reporting that Marshall is being accused of punching a woman in the face at presumably the same club.

According to the Post, a woman named Christin Myles was attempting to return to the upper floor of the Manhattan club Marquee when she was denied entry because Marshall and an unnamed football player were engaged in a fight and were in the process of being thrown out. While outside of the club, Myles' friends were arguing with Marshall's group as well as that of the other player when Marshall allegedly struck Myles in the face, leaving her with a black left eye. Myles has filed charges, but it is unclear if Marshall intentionally hit her, or if he had intended to punch one of her friends.

It's also unclear how, or if, this incident is related to the one involving Marshall's wife, though more details will presumably emerge in the coming days and weeks. According to Bears GM Phil Emery, the incident was not a secret when Chicago completed the trade:

"Both the Bears and Dolphins were aware of what occurred over the weekend. We decided to move forward with the trade. We have high expectations for Brandon as a Bear," Emery said.

Marshall has been one of the most productive wide receivers in the NFL since entering the league, but his on-field play has often been overshadowed by his off-field incidents. He was dealt from the Denver Broncos to the Miami Dolphins because he had worn out his welcome in the Mile High City, and while in Miami he was stabbed in the stomach by his wife. He also reportedly spiked a ball off of teammate Vontae Davis' face when Davis showed up to a practice late and hungover.
