Bears Free Agency 2012: Bears Likely To Have More Than $25 Million In Cap Room

It still remains to be seen how new Chicago Bears GM Phil Emery will decide to attack free agency, but he will have money to spend, if he so pleases. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears could have as much as $28 million in cap space free this offseason. Though the exact number is, according to Biggs, "constantly in flux," Chicago is expected to have at least $25 million in cap room to play with.

Emery may or may not choose to use that money, and that cap number will also take a bit of a hit once the Bears agree to contract terms with their draft picks, but it's a nice bit of room as Emery looks to improve a team that seemed sure to make the playoffs before being hit with a devastating rash of injuries.
