Chicago Bears are No. 5 seed in NFC playoff picture

If the NFL season were to end prior to Week 14, the Chicago Bears would be the No. 5 seed in the NFC.

US PRESSWIRE

The Chicago Bears have lost three of their last four games to fall to 8-4, but they still would be in the playoffs if the season were to end after 12 games. The Bears have dropped to the No. 5 seed in the NFC, as the Green Bay Packers have taken control of the NFC North.

With four games remaining, and one of them against the Packers, the Bears still control their own destiny in the NFC North and can win the division. As it stands now the Bears would be the top Wild Card in the NFC, with the Seattle Seahawks (7-5) earning the second Wild Card spot. The next closest teams sit at 6-6, two games behind the Bears. The Bears are currently slated to play the New York Giants in the first round of the playoffs. The Giants (7-5) are the current leaders of the NFC East.

Chicago finishes its season out with games at the Minnesota Vikings (6-6), vs. the Packers (8-4), at the Arizona Cardinals (4-8), and at the Detroit Lions (4-8).
