Bears injury report: Charles Tillman, Matt Forte return to practice Thursday

The Bears received a nice boost on Thursday by the return of both Matt Forte and Charles Tillman from injuries.

USA TODAY Sports

After sitting out with injuries to open the week, Bears starters Charles Tillman and Matt Forte were each back on the practice field on Thursday in a limited capacity.

Forte averaged an impressive 7.3 yards per carry before leaving last week's win over Arizona with an ankle issue, while Tillman continues to battle both elbow and rib injuries but has yet to miss a game this season. Both players were among a list of nine Chicago names on the team's Week 17 injury report, a group that includes four men who did not suit up at all on Thursday.

Still hoping to make a postseason return from a debilitating hamstring injury, Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher once again missed practice, and joined tailback Armando Allen (knee), safety Chris Conte (hamstring) and linebacker Blake Costanzo (calf) on the sidelines. Defensive tackle Henry Melton also practiced for the second straight day in a limited role, while offensive lineman Jonathan Scott was a full-go for the first time this week.
