Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery returned to portions of the team's practice Friday, but he is still doubtful to play in Sunday night's game against the Houston Texans, according to Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.
Jeffery hasn't played since Chicago's 41-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5, as he continues to recover from a broken right hand injury. Through five games, the rookie out of South Carolina has 14 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns. His top game, yardage-wise, came in the Bears' Week 1 41-21 victory over the Indianapolis Colts, where Jeffery had three catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.
In his absence, wide receiver Earl Bennett has seen more targets, catching 10 passes for 96 yards in the last three weeks. Brandon Marshall, however, continues to anchor Chicago's receiving corps, with 59 catches (good for fourth in the NFL) for 797 yards (good for second in the NFL) and seven touchdowns, which ranks third-best in the league.
