Bears vs. 49ers score update: Chicago trails 27-7 after 3rd quarter

The Chicago Bears are just one quarter away from falling to 7-3, as they trail the San Francisco 49ers, 27-7, heading into the fourth quarter on Monday night.

Colin Kaepernick continued his strong play in his first NFL start in relief of Alex Smith. Kaepernick opened the scoring in the second half with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Michael Crabtree. The touchdown strike capped a five-play, 62-yard drive and gave San Francisco a 27-0 lead.

Jason Campbell took several hard hits in the third quarter and was checked out by trainers at one point, but he returned to finally get the Bears on the board with a 13-yard pass to Brandon Marshall. Unfortunately for the Bears, Campbell threw an interception on the team's next possession.

For the game, Kaepernick is 15-of-20 for 232 yards and two touchdowns. Campbell is 9-of-16 for 76 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. San Francisco has racked up 325 yards of offense to just 112 for Chicago.
